Aftercare Instructions and Maintenance Tips for Paint Protection Film

Thank you for choosing Invisigroup to protect your vehicle, now you can enjoy your vehicle withpiece of mind that its protected. Please see below our aftercare instructions to keep your paintprotection film in great condition, the below should be followed if you also have a ceramic coating on top of the paint protection film:

  • Please wait 7 days after installation to wash your car.
  • After this period, you may wash your vehicle as normal BUT avoid using a pressure washer or high-pressure water source near the edges of the film, it can cause the film to lift and/or become damaged. If being used turn down the pressure and stand 3 feet back.
  • Please use pH neutral products on the paint protection film
  • Remove insect or other stains as soon as possible with XPEL Film Cleaner or warm water, this is important as if left on the acids in the droppings will eat through the self-healing layer.
  • Light scratches in the film will self-heal in 20-30 minutes at room temperature. In colder conditions, or to accelerate the process, pour warm water (120°F) over the affected area.
  • Detailing clay can be used to remove contaminants that are on the film

Maintenance washing tips:

  • Step One: Always out of direct sunlight spray on a non-acidic pH neutral wheel cleaner to the wheels and a pH neutral snow foam to prewash the car’s body, let both dwell for 5 minutes before rising down. Powerful jet washing is NOT recommended as the edges of the film can lift if the jet wash is too close, if being used turn down the pressure and stand back three feet.
  • Step Two: Using a dedicated wheel bucket, clean the wheels front & back with soft bristle brushes and a wash mitt for the wheels. Using the two-bucket method with girt guard and a pH neutral car shampoo wash the body of the vehicle top down, once done rinse the whole car and wheels.
  • Step Three: Drying the vehicle, the best way to reduce the likelihood of causing scratches is to use an air blower or pat dry with microfiber drying towel.
  • Step Four: Use a ceramic boost spray or quick detailer (Waxing will not adhere to the ceramic coating), dress the tyres, wipe down the glass and your all set!Yearly: Bring your vehicle back to us for a health check and to top up the ceramic coating.
